How to Sell Successfully on Amazon in Q4 2022
- Plan in Advance
- Optimize Your Amazon Listing
- Begin your Amazon PPC campaigns on time
- Manage your Amazon inventory
- Pay attention to Amazon Q4 seasonal storage fees.
Plan for Amazon Q4 in Advance
Don’t let your sails get caught in a current you can’t control! When sales pick up and velocity increases, are you poised to act or react. In other words, will you be ready with the right inventory on stand-by to ship into Amazon’s FC’s. Or will you be on your heels, dialing up the price on your product listing to slow sales & buy time for more product to show up.
Mapping out inventory levels starts now. Review last years Q4 numbers. Connect with your supplier. Get goods onto the water before the rush. You don’t want to find your products in a metaphorical stampede that is Long Beach Port in Q4. Lastly, find a 3PL who’s warehousing & storage rates are reasonable.
Optimize Your Amazon Product Listing
This is a no brainer. BUT, if you’ve been putting off the following – now’s the time to wrap up loose ends on your product listing:
Keyword Review
Keywords change and evolve over time. When’s the last time you used a 3rd party platform to check how they rank on Amazon, in Google, or elsewhere?
Q4 Amazon Product Photos
you no doubt have solid photos. But do you have Amazon A+ content to access features like high quality images, text overlays, videos, or comparison charts? Make sure you are leveraging every tool to show customers how your product will add value to their life.
A / B Testing Amazon Product Listing
if you’re feeling extra ambitious, test your conversion rates on Amazon by swapping different product photos, titles, or descriptions before Q4 starts. For example, what you think the listing should look like, might not always be what you end-customer thinks it should look like. A bit of A / B testing can shine light on where to boost conversion rates by a couple percentage points.
Q4 Amazon PPC campaigns – Start Months Ahead of Q4!
Every seller scrambles to secure more visibility during Q4. PPC campaigns are the engine of any lucrative sales funnel on Amazon. However, the key to succeeding with Amazon PPC during Q4 is to start early. How early? We recommend a couple months in advance. Why? First, it takes a couple months to secure the data needed to really focus in on your cash-cow keywords. Early data helps optimize ad campaigns to ensure you maximize your ad spend. Additionally, this will help position your BSR into a competitive spot for more organic exposure, once the playing field gets crowded during Q4.
Manage Amazon Q4 Inventory
Inventory management dovetails with planning ahead, as mentioned above. Experienced sellers know that running out of stock during Q4 is not an option. Why? Running out of inventory results in lost sales and downgrades your product rankings on Amazon.
Watch Out for Amazon’s Q4 Storage Fees
Alternatively, if you stock up too much on an untested product, you could be stuck paying exorbitant Amazon storage fees. Amazon cranks up seasonal storage fees to over 292% compared to FbaZoom’s storage fee of $49/pallet/month.
